3. Blog Comment Policy
Muslim Mechanics is an educational and informational blog. All information is governed by the First Amendment and is for the public's general educational purpose.
i.) No use of CAPITAL LETTERS (as this is considered SCREAMING). Abbreviations (USA, CAIR, UN, BBC, etc.) are, of course, allowed.
ii.) All comments must be courteous to me, the blog's author, moderators, any guest author, and all the other commentators. You are welcome to criticize and even attack ideas, but not people.
iii.) All racist comments are banned. Racism is, in my opinion, not so much the belief that various human groups are different from each other, say like dog breeds can be different, but the idea that the differences between different human groups are derogatory as compared to other human groups. Second, racism is also a belief that your group's biological characteristics somehow pre-determine your actions/choices/values in life. Third, racism often, but not always, assumes a hierarchy amongst human groups (whites over blacks; Jews over Gentiles, Muslims over Christians, etc.).
iv.) Criticism of religion. Religions are legitimate targets for scrutiny and criticism. I am a traditionalist Protestant Christian, but I consider Muslims (i.e., non-Takfiris) and Catholics as my friends. Atheists and agnostics are welcome here if they can add rational thought to the conversation. If you can offer a well-informed and logical criticism of Christianity or Islam, or any other religion or sect, that is fine.
v.) Any comment stating or implying that homosexuality is a "normal and natural variation of human sexuality" goes to the trash. It is not handled as normal or natural in the Bible nor the Qur'an. Take your comments about homosexuality elsewhere.
vi.) People from other blogs or their friends have been using the MM blog for self-promotion in the comments. Once now and again, putting a credible link and adding to the discussion is permissible, but not a pattern of this type of self-promotion behavior. If you want to discuss another blog, go to their blog to do it. If you want to promote your website, then please email me first.
